What happens in Rebusky – Part 3

Sometime after Hitler’s Suicide, the small town of Rebusky experienced a chain of events. These events did not effect any outsider’s life, but they did interlink with each other in a way. Connecting the dot we see another interesting story, the story about the narrator himself…. Read the previous story here.

Buddy’s House

Buddy had a beautiful house! When I say beautiful I mean a palace-like-looking-phenomenally-big-and-beautiful house. As I entered, there were fine engine cars parked through the porch, and I could see people dressed like they owned the whole country. Even the kids were carrying confidence of a mountain as they entered. I have had my share of luxury as I grew in my life, but I never could have imagined gaining the riches these people seemed to possess.

There were Indians, Asians and even Africans in this party. This made me wonder if this was really a family gathering or just another business exposition.

During initial meetings, I was overwhelmed to know that these people were his real relatives. Apparently, his family members had some funny exotic marriage hysteria where they only used to marry foreigners. But, multitude of people meant diversity in food which was a delight for me.

“Je vous souhaite le bonjour, señor.”, said the amazingly dressed serveur, as I moved near the bar.

Yeah, ofcourse he was serveur, for the theme was french, but the small Asian guy sitting next to the tall African lady was all I could notice in the whole scene.

“Hey, mate how are you? I thought you won’t come!” I hear Buddy’s voice.

As I turned, I saw him grand as always in a white suite with a really fine lady.

She was dressed up in an Victorian white shoulder-less gown right next to him. To my awe, that lady was really fine and if you change the clothes and remove the tilted hat perched on top of her hair, big eye lashes and and the tight heels, she would look as fine as my Mary.

Wait!! She was my Mary!

I almost dropped the bouquet I bought for my friend on the floor, before picking it up halfway towards my knees and I noticed she was wearing the fairy-pearl bracelet that belonged to my mom. I realised the situation now.

Mary looked nervous too. She was as beautiful as the day I left her. Her big grey-green eyes and ginger hair always left me gasping over myself. I could sense the uneasiness in her eyes as Buddy introduced me to her.

“Take care of yourself or you will break something here and I must say your salary won’t be able to cover the losses. You know what I mean!” he said while giving his old-Buddy-wicked-wink, but who cared I was busy gazing at those big tigress eyes and wondering about all those years we spent together and all those years we spent away because of my one childish mistake.

“And who is the beautiful woman here!” I said.

I took her hand in my hand and was about to get closer when Buddy spoke –

“Oh I am sorry I missed introducing you guys. She is the empress to my heart. My beautiful wife – Mary!”

to be contd..
